وأجريت قرعة كأس ملك إسبانيا اليوم السبت، لمباريات دور الـ16، بعد ان تخطى برشلونة نظيره إنترسيتي الأسبوع الماضي بصعوبة، بنتيجة 4/3، خلال المواجهة التي امتدت للأشواط الإضافية.

وقال تشافي في تصريحات بالمؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بمواجهة أتلتيكو مدريد، غدًا الأحد: “حالفنا الحظ بالقرعة أمام سبتة، لكن علينا ألا نتهاون أمامهم وإثبات أنفسنا”.

واستدرك بالحديث عن انضمام أروخو لقائمة كأس العالم في المونديال الماضي: “هو لاعب هام ومدافع مُذهل، تحدثنا مع مدرب أوروجواي وكنا واضحيين في موقفنا، القرار كان بيده (أراوخو) أيضًا، الأهم هو أنه تعافى وشارك من جديد، نتمنى أن تبتعد الإصابات عنه”.

The 2011 IPL continued to take a beating in the television ratings stakes, with the average rating for the first 49 games dropping 25.52% from the previous year across six key markets.The average Television Viewer Rating (TVR), a time-weighted figure which accounts for time spent watching by viewers and the number of viewers, was 3.94 across the cities of Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, down from 5.29 in 2010, according to TAM Sports, a division of TAM Media Research, the leading television ratings agency in India. It is the first time the average ratings for the IPL have fallen below 4.A report by IIFL Institutional Equities, a brokerage firm, said that tournament ratings have fallen because of a combination of too much cricket and the shuffling of players between the teams, which has diluted fan loyalty. However, Akash Chattopadhyay, an analyst with IIFL who co-wrote the report, expects the ratings to pick up as the tournament enters its final stages. “We are of the opinion that ratings may pick up during the last knock-out match — to the tune of 8 TVR (television ratings points). But overall, the series would be nowhere close to the first edition.”Ratings jargon

Universe: The total number of people in a defined target audience (in this particular case, the universe includes all cable and satellite viewers in the six metros).

Reach: The number of individuals in the universe who watched at least one minute of a particular game or a particular show. It is typically expressed in percentage terms. For example, if 1000 out of a universe of 10,000 watched at least one minute of a game, the reach would be (1000/10,000) x 100 or 10%.

TVR: It is a time-weighted figure which accounts for time spent by viewers in addition to the total number of viewers. So you could have a higher TVR because more people watched a particular game or you could have a higher TVR because the same number of people watched the game, but each person watched more of the game than before.

Another sign of the IPL’s loosening grip on the attention of the viewer has been the strength of the Hindi general entertainment genre (Hindi GEC). In years past, the IPL has siphoned women away from their soaps but this season the Hindi entertainment channels’ share of total viewership has been steady. It was 26% in the month leading up to the tournament and 25% during the first month of the IPL. Instead, Set Max has stolen viewers away from the sports channels, whose share has dropped from 11% during the World Cup to 1% while the Hindi movie genre, to which Set Max belongs, has seen its share rise from 10 to 18%.The two matches that were the biggest draws between May 1 and May 7 both involved Mumbai Indians. Their win over Pune Warriors had the highest rating of 5.39, with 21 million people tuning in to watch, suggesting that a strong regional rivalry could develop between the teams. The second most popular game was Mumbai’s win over Delhi Daredevils that knocked the latter out of the race for the play-offs. It had a TVR of 4.95, and also drew 21 million viewers.The least popular game over the last week was Chennai Super Kings’ trouncing of Rajasthan Royals that was surrounded by the controversy over the selection of the pitch for the game. It was watched by 12 million and had a TVR of just 2.09.

Em um campeonato longo e extremamente disputado como o Brasileirão, o São Paulo não pode se dar ao luxo de perder pontos valiosos. Todos os empates do Tricolor na competição poderiam muito bem ser vitórias. Em todos eles, uma ou mais falhas foram determinantes para o resultado.

A invencibilidade da equipe ilustra o melhor momento do time em 2018. O São Paulo está mais competitivo do que no Campeonato Paulista e tem uma ideia de jogo consolidada. Apesar disto, ainda há erros que precisam ser consertados. O clube, embora tenha pontos para serem comemorados, não pode se empolgar pelos seis empates.

Dwayne Bravo, the West Indies allrounder, has said he asked for a break for the “remainder of the ODI series” against India because he was “not happy” with his game at the moment. Bravo wanted to use the time off to “refocus, reflect” and return for the Test series starting on June 20. Bravo was granted the break by the WICB, after having played the first two ODIs following a six-game stint in the IPL this year with the Chennai Super Kings.”I’m not happy about the way my cricket is at the moment,” Bravo told Trinidad’s . “I honestly believe I can do a lot better, so I would like to use this time to stay away from the game and refocus, reflect and use this opportunity to get rest and to try and get back my focus again.”Bravo was ruled out of the 2011 World Cup early in the tournament after he injured his knee during the game against South Africa. He played the ODI series against Pakistan before skipping the Tests to play in the IPL. He’s played 10 ODIs this year, averaging 47.71 with the ball for his seven wickets as opposed to a career average of 29.81. With the bat, he’s averaged 24.37 this year with a highest of 40.”Sometimes in international cricket, because of the hectic schedule, it is difficult to catch form in the middle of tournaments and series, so I just asked for a break from the game for the remainder of the ODI series and look to rejoin the team for the beginning of the Test series.”The lack of momentum after returning from injury, Bravo said, was a problem. “At the beginning of the World Cup, I was coming back into my own in the warm-up games. Then I went off to the IPL, which was also a hectic time over there.”The need for a break was more for psychological reasons, Bravo said. “Obviously there are some technical aspects you could improve on, but it’s more about regaining the focus and self-belief that I had before. Picking up injuries and being out of the game for so long is always difficult. … It takes time.”Bravo was grateful his request for a break was granted. “I hope people respect my decision. I still have a lot of passion and desire to represent West Indies. In the long run, I believe I will benefit and West Indies cricket will benefit.”

If Alastair Cook felt leading England’s one-day ramshackle was a tough ask he’d do well to listen to Kumar Sangakkara’s MCC Spirit of Cricket lecture. Yes, stretching five top-three batsman into a top six is difficult, but far simpler than confronting the kind of political wranglings Sri Lankan captains are subjected to.Despite the numerous unwelcome and conflicting influences on Sri Lanka’s set up, the team still manages to remain remarkably clear-headed in their approach to limited-overs cricket. After cruising to victory in the last two games they can wrap up the series at Trent Bridge. Given that they arrived in England with their two best players still at the IPL, a new captain, no vice-captain and an interim coach – not to mention all the problems Sangakkara discussed – two trophies out of the three on offer would be a fantastic effort. In one-day cricket everyone in the team has a clearly-defined role, backs themselves to stick to it, and the results follow.How Cook and Andy Flower must long for such clarity. In the two 50-over matches this series England have reverted to the kind of muddled ODI outfit that has epitomised their cricket through the last two decades. Batsmen too ponderous, bowlers too monotonous, tactics too obvious. Theories have abounded from all corners on how best to remedy the problems, though, after just three games as full-time captain, Cook might feel he deserves some time to develop his own.It’s a measure of just how strong willed Cook is that, while watching his team lurch to failure at Lord’s, he managed to stick to his own game and deliver his seventh hundred in 16 international innings. Yet, as his muted celebration pointed to, his own game is not quite strong enough to carry his team. In conditions as batsman-friendly as Lord’s was on Sunday, steering the innings with a 143-ball 119 was an antiquated luxury. It is likely Cook will develop a game to better those kind of numbers, but until then he needs his team-mates to help him out.While it’s difficult to deny the class of Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan and Ian Bell as individuals, collectively they keep underperforming. They talk continuously about ‘fearless cricket’ but only Morgan and Pietersen live up to the words, the rest play consistently in a way that betrays the precise opposite. The comparison between 21-year-old Dinesh Chandimal merrily slapping boundaries and Bell – a batsman in the form of his life – tortuously grinding out singles was instructive.A collective caution has gripped England and something needs to break that. Paul Collingwood managed it in the last Champions Trophy and England’s best period of recent ODI cricket followed. If this combination, in this order, is what the selectors have put their faith in, than the personnel need to follow Collingwood’s example of selflessly adapting to the task asked of them. If they don’t, change has to follow.It’s not just Cook with things on his mind, though. England’s other limited-overs captain, Stuart Broad, is in the midst of the toughest period of his career. Like a legspinner who becomes so enamoured with the googly that the stock-ball goes missing, Broad is stuck in bumper mode. As he showed in an accomplished spell to Chandimal at Lord’s, he does indeed posses a good bouncer but without anything else to offer he is proving completely ineffective. He is meant to be the motor to Cook’s rudder at the top of England’s line-up but in the games they have played together, Cook’s strike-rate of 88.64 is marginally ahead of Kieswetter’s 87.60. At Lord’s, Kieswetter managed 3 from 13 balls, digging a crater that England were unable to lift themselves out of. At Trent Bridge if he can start with a flurry, Cook and the rest of the team will feel much more comfortable.Kumar Sangakkara again demonstrated how deeply impressive a character he is with his MCC lecture. Already the fall-out from that speech has “disturbed a hornets nest” back home, according to the state-run Lankapuvath news agency in Sri Lanka. Having been brave enough to pen and deliver such powerful words, a match-winning innings would be the least he deserves.Team newsEngland could as easily make four changes as none at Trent Bridge. Twice Graeme Swann has been England’s best bowler and both times Cook has been unable to back him up with another slow bowler. If they can trust Samit Patel, on his home ground, with eight overs he could replace Stuart Broad – in doing so bolstering England’s late-order hitting – but Broad has been publicly backed by his captain.
