The Bombay High Court is expected to announce on Monday its verdict in the Rajasthan Royals case, where the BCCI has appealed against the stay granted on the franchise’s expulsion by an independent arbitrator. Both parties have completed arguments, with the board repeating its contention that the ownership of Rajasthan had changed hands while the franchise maintained that the “ultimate control” of the team had remained the same.Justice S Vazifdar, who is hearing the case, had granted an interim injunction to Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday, restoring to the team all its rights under the IPL franchise agreement, subject to certain conditions. The similarity between that case and Rajasthan’s prompted speculation of a similar judgement today. However, Rajasthan’s decision to not pay any monetary guarantees – unlike Punjab – led to Vazifdar deferring the decision to Monday.Rajasthan had gone to court against the board’s decision in October to terminate them for alleged violations in shareholding pattern, ownership and change in ultimate control without obtaining prior consent of the BCCI. The court directed that the matter be settled through arbitration. But in a setback for the BCCI, the arbitrator, Justice BN Srikrishna, observed that the board was aware all along of the franchise’s alleged violations that formed the basis of the termination, and that Rajasthan had not, in fact, violated the franchise agreement. The BCCI moved the High Court immediately to contest Srikrishna’s verdict.Monday’s judgement would be vital for the board because if Vajifdar upholds the arbitrator’s verdict, the Indian board could be forced to field ten teams in the fourth edition of the IPL. Also the player auction, scheduled on January 8 and 9, will go ahead as planned. The board will then have the choice of approaching the two-judge divisional bench of the Bombay High Court, and move the Supreme Court after that, if need be.During Thursday’s arguments, BCCI counsel CA Sundaram said Srikrishna had based his judgement on certain assumptions. Under the franchise agreement, any change in control or corporate structure in the bid company cannot happen without the approval of the board. “Such an approval has to be taken 15 days before the change is made,” Sundaram told the court.According to Sundaram the arbitrator erred in considering the ultimate control of the bid company had changed post the date of franchise agreement . That was because “the date should have been that of the Letter of Eligibily (LoE) and not of the franchise agreement,” Sundaram said.The board’s charge was that the bid company was Emerging Media (IPL) Pvt Ltd UK (EMIPL), but it was now only a minority shareholder in the franchise. Sundaram said that at the time the LoE was submitted, there was only one bidding company, EMIPL. “However, as of today there was a Mauritius-based company [EM Sporting Holdings] whose holding structure is not known to the Indian board. Therefore, the BCCI now did not trust the Jaipur franchise and therefore, the termination.”Rajasthan’s counsel Janak Dwarkadas said “ultimate control” had never changed in his client’s company. He said that originally when the franchise was formed the intended structure was meant to comprise of the ultimate company, the Mauritius-based EM Sporting, whose subsidiary would be Jaipur IPL Pvt. Ltd. (the applicant at the time of bidding).””The UK company was the bid company where Fraser Castelino and Ranjit Barthakur were the shareholders when the LoE was submitted. After the franchise agreement was signed, the UK Company sold its shares to the Mauritius company and now the Mauritius company was the parent company, whose subsidiary was Jaipur IPL, and these changes were bought to the notice of BCCI who had approved the same,” Dwarkadas said.

أعرب روبرتسون عن تفاؤله بعودة الجناح إلى المستوى الأعلى عاجلاً وليس آجلاً، مع إدراك مدى تأثير غيابه على رجال كلوب.

وتابع: “إصابة لويس ضربة كبيرة لنا ولكن كل ما يمكننا فعله هو المحاولة ومساعدته ومحاولة التواجد من أجله ومساعدته بأي طريقة ممكنة لأنني أتخيل أنه يشعر بالإحباط حيال ذلك حاليًا”.

وأكد: “لذلك من المهم أن نحاول رفع معنوياته ونمنحه الدعم الذي يحتاجه، وهو ما سنفعله، من الواضح أننا سنفعل ذلك مع الجماهير أيضًا، لذلك كلما أسرعنا في عودته إلى الملعب كان ذلك أفضل لأنه من دواعي سروري مشاهدته يلعب معنا”.

O Vasco entrou nesta quinta-feira com um recurso com pedido de efeito suspensivo no Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva do Rio de Janeiro (TJD-RJ) contra a punição de até seis meses a Rildo, dada devido ao lance que ocasionou uma fratura em dois ossos da perna direita de João Paulo, do Botafogo. No julgamento em primeira instância, no último dia 26, Rildo foi suspenso até o volante do Botafogo voltar a treinar ou no máximo seis meses. O atacante do Vasco foi denunciado no artigo 254, inciso II do Código Brasileiro de Justiça Desportiva (CBJD). Uma possível reforma da decisão ainda não indica o retorno imediato de Rildo, já que ele também está em recuperação de uma luxação no ombro esquerdo. As expectativas são de que ele retorne em até dez dias por conta deste tratamento e que no julgamento que tenha diminuição da pena.

Ainda sem Rildo, o Vasco entra em campo neste domingo, contra o próprio Botafogo, na volta da final do Campeonato Carioca. O Cruz-Maltino tem a vantagem do empate para ser campeão estadual.

Baroda captain Pinal Shah has defended his decision to bowl on a dry, grassless Moti Bagh wicket that played low and slow on the first day of the Ranji Trophy final, saying he expected some moisture to help the seamers. Rajasthan adopted an extremely cautious approach, but were strongly placed at 198 for 3, and would have been in an even better position were it not for captain Hrishikesh Kanitkar’s late dismissal.”It looked to be a batting wicket. Earlier we were going to play only two seamers. But in the morning, we felt there was some moisture around despite the grass having been removed,” Pinal said. “That’s why we played an extra allrounder in Abhijit Karambelkar. They have some batsmen who score big, like Aakash Chopra, Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Ashok Menaria, and we thought if we could get them in the morning, it would be great for us.”Mukesh Narula, the Baroda coach, told ESPNcricinfo that it was a last minute decision to bowl and explained it was a combination of the conditions and a wariness of Rajasthan’s batting that dictated the choice. “The first thing I noticed this [Tuesday] morning was that there was dew around, and we felt that we could utilise it,” he said. “Also, Rajasthan’s batting has been in good form, and we thought there was a chance they could chase down whatever we would manage to put up.” Having played three seamers, Baroda would have certainly wanted a better return from them than the 46 wicketless overs they bowled. “I think our fast bowlers could have done a much better job today,” Narula said.Rajasthan were pleasantly surprised by Baroda’s decision, as they themselves would have batted first. “I guess the only reason they didn’t bat was because they might have been wary of our seam attack of Pankaj Singh and Deepak Chahar,” Aakash Chopra, the Rajasthan opener, said. “I can’t think of any other reason, as they had removed all the grass from the wicket, which was very dry.”Kanitkar’s wicket towards the end evened things out slightly on a dreary first day, but the Rajasthan captain was satisfied with his side’s approach. “I should not have got out. But I am happy with the way we played,” he said. “It was not an easy wicket to bat on as the ball was keeping low and not coming on. And once they knew we were well set, they stopped attacking, and started bowling to defensive fields.”Rajasthan are eyeing a score of at least 400 now, after the steady start, and Kanitkar felt that despite losing himself and Chopra, they had the batting line-up to pile on the runs. “Ideally, I would be really happy with 550, but a minimum of 400 is needed,” Kanitkar said. “Most of our batsmen have been among the runs. And we are playing the finals, so everyone should be ready to do the job.”Contrary to Baroda’s choice to play an extra seamer, the dry nature of the surface prompted Rajasthan to leave out steady third seamer Sumit Mathur in favour of offspinner Madhur Khatri. “Sumit has bowled his heart out throughout the season. I feel very bad that he could not play this game. But that is what the wicket was demanding,” Kanitkar said.While both sides have gone in with two specialist spinners, Chopra felt the Rajasthan new-ball duo of Pankaj and Chahar could still be dangerous on this track. “Pankaj is six-foot plus, and from that height, on a wicket that is keeping low at times, it [the bounce] can become very uncertain for a batsman,” he said. “And Chahar does not depend on the wicket; he generates a lot of swing in the air.”Baroda are hoping they can get something out of the wicket tomorrow morning. “The first session is important,” Narula said. “If we can get a few wickets, we are right back in the game as they have gone very slowly till now.”

Tenta limpar sua imagem, enxugando os estragos que o chororô desmedido provocou. Tudo, no fundo, tem boa dose de jogo de cena. Se der certo – e a final acabar anulada, por exemplo, ou o árbitro for punido -, terá matado dois coelhos com um tiro só.
