Temos outros grandes goleiros e vamos no tempo do Jefferson – completou o técnico.

Wolves: Fans react to Kieffer Moore link

Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing a bid for Wales striker Kieffer Moore, according to Football Insider.

The offer will apparently be in the region of £7m, and it remains to be seen whether that’s enough to persuade Cardiff City, who are open to sale because they’re in need of cash.

Wolves are keen to add another centre-forward to their ranks in the final week of the transfer window. They’ve already offloaded two this summer, sending Patrick Cutrone on loan to Empoli and selling Rafa Mir to Sevilla for a fee of £10.8m.

What’s Moore’s track record?

Moore scored 20 goals in 42 Championship appearances for Cardiff last season as they narrowly missed out on the play-off places. His form was enough to earn him three starts for Wales at the European Championship earlier in the summer (via WhoScored).

However, you can still understand why some Wolves fans may be unconvinced given that the has been plying his trade in the second tier and has never played in the Premier League.

Fan feed Talking Wolves relayed the report, and here’s what some of the club’s supporters made of it.

These Wolves fans far from impressed by Moore links

“Never played in the Prem so would be a clear gamble. Mitrovic at Fulham would be a better fit but even he is out of our reach. A sorry state of affairs if it happens but a clear indication of the downward spiral the club finds itself in thanks to Shi.”

“Predictable rumours. In the end we can’t attract ‘Top’ players so we’ll raid the championship, panic buying before the deadline. There’s no recruitment strategy plan B.”

Ranesh Perera spins Sri Lanka to victory

Sri Lanka Academy made a strong comeback to win the third and final four-day game

Cricinfo staff19-Sep-2008Sri Lanka Academy XI 252 (Mendis 136, Sajidul 3-35) and 285 (Mendis 138, Nawela 50, Nasir 4-42) beat Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy 321 (Islam 73, Kayes 67, Sunny 63, Mendis 4-61) and 151 (Alam 53, R Perera 5-46, Ganegama 3-25) by 65 runs
ScorecardJeewan Mendis scored his second century of the match, and Akalanka Ganegama and Ranesh Perera ran through the Bangladesh Academy line-up as Sri Lanka Academy made a strong comeback to win the third and final four-day game in Colombo.Sri Lanka had conceded a 69-run first-innings lead, and began the final day 143 runs ahead with five wickets remaining in their second. Mendis, the Sri Lankan captain, added 45 runs to his overnight score of 93 as Sri Lanka pushed their second-innings total to 285. Wicketkeeper Gihan De Silva gave Mendis support with his 24, but Nasir Hossain took four lower-order wickets with his offspin to leave Mendis stranded. Mendis was the last man out, making 138, two more than his first-innings score.Chasing 217, Bangladesh had a shaky start as Ganegama removed three batsmen with the new ball. Bangladesh’s batsmen struggle to go past single figures, with only Shamsur Rahman and Marshall Ayub scoring more than ten among the top eight.Shamsur fell for 23 to medium-pacer Chaminda Vidanapathirana, before Perera triggered a collapse with his five-for. Four of his wickets came in the space of 4.3 overs as Bangladesh were reduced to 75 for 8. Mahbubul Alam, the No. 9 batsman, led a resistance from the tailenders. He scored 53, and took his side to 112 along with Ziaur Rahman, who made 17. Perera got his fifth wicket as he had Rahman caught by Mendis, and Bangladesh’s innings folded up on 151 when Mendis finally dismissed Alam for 53.The two teams will now face off in three one-dayers, with the first one on September 21.

Captains believe there are too many counties

Half of county captains believe there are too many first-class counties in the English game, according to an end-of-season survey of all 18 domestic leaders by The Wisden Cricketer magazine

Cricinfo staff14-Oct-2008Half of county captains believe there are too many first-class counties in the English game, according to an end-of-season survey of all 18 domestic leaders by The Wisden Cricketer magazine.Opinions were evenly split. Kent’s Robert Key suggested a maximum of ten teams to ensure the best players played against each other, week-in-week-out. The recently retired Yorkshire captain Darren Gough agreed, but added that “nobody is ever going to do anything about it”.Defending the status quo was Warwickshire’s Darren Maddy, who said: “I am a traditionalist and I respect the traditions of all the counties.”There was no such division of opinion when it came to the amount of cricket and time to prepare. Fifteen captains said there was too much domestic cricket, and 16 also believed there was too little time for preparation throughout the season. Sussex’s Chris Adams said: “There is precious little time for recovery and time away from the game, which is fundamentally important.” Those views were echoed by Maddy. “It’s unfair not just on the players but on spectators who turn up to see players performing at 75-80% effort.”Another area of almost universal agreement is the belief that two divisions have improved the Championship. Seventeen of the 18 captains backed this view. “Young players who do well in the top division are ready to play international cricket,” Justin Langer, Somerset’s captain, explained. “You couldn’t have said that before.”Despite the hype and glamour of Twenty20 cricket, 15 captains said the Championship remained the most important domestic competition to win. But looking ahead, one anonymous respondent said:” The English Premier League will become the most important.”Stuart Law, who was yesterday released by Lancashire, said: “It will be beneficial to counties for financial reasons, rather than cricket reasons.”In other findings revealed by the survey, Kolpak players were seen to have raised the standard of the domestic game by 10 captains, with one making the valid point that, “they mentor our young players at a time when the top English players are rarely available due to central contracts.”Twelve captains opposed the idea of a football-style transfer fee system for players, with one saying the balance of wealth is already too extreme, potentially leading to “a Premiership-style top four and that can get boring.”One captain who did back the idea suggested that , “a transfer system would be a fantastic way of giving money back invested in the best young players, who in time are bought by larger counties, to the clubs who developed them.”

Reporter backs Nuno to get best out of Traore if Spurs seal deal

Evening Standard reporter Jack Rosser believes Nuno Espirito Santo would get the best out of Adama Traore if Tottenham Hotspur complete a late swoop for the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger.

Nuno, who was appointed as Spurs’ head coach following a lengthy managerial search in June, is keen to be reunited with Traore having bossed the Spain international before leaving Wolves at the end of last season.

With the transfer deadline looming, reports suggest Nuno is looking to negotiate a deal which would see Traore, who according to reports in Spain last week is keen to link up again with his former boss, head to north London on loan until the end of the season with a view to making the move permanent for £40million.

Despite links with a move away from Molineux, Traore has started all three of Wolves’ Premier League fixtures so far this season. However, he has been unable to stop his current employers falling to three consecutive defeats in the top flight.

Rosser thinks Nuno would be capable of taking Traore’s game to another level if the late move is completed.

He told The Transfer Tavern: “You’d back Nuno to get a good tune out of him even though you always worry about his end product.

“Nuno knows what he would be getting and is not going to waste money on a player he spent that much time with before. He’ll know he would add something to the group. Spurs do have quite a lot of players in those positions but there are question marks over a lot of them as well.

“Traore has just got into the Spain squad, which is good experience for him, but there is no other manager you would rather have looking after him if they get that deal over the line.”

M Vijay continued to build on his impressive showing in the Challenger Trophy, where he finished as the second-highest run-getter, scoring an unbeaten 202. Sunny scored 90 in that stand, with 17 fours in his unbeaten run-a-ball innings. Sandeep Jobanputra struck early for the hosts, getting Priyank Kirit Panchal for 4. Modi and Parthiv then put on 71 before Parthiv was out after a brisk 42 . Modi too scored 42 but, while Parthiv needed only 50 deliveries, Modi took 155. Niraj Patel made 36 but his dismissal left Gujarat in a spot of bother at 160 for 4.

A definição do caso deve ocorrer bem próxima do dia 30.
