Lots of Everton fans have been left to fume as Fabrizio Romano has dropped a transfer update on their pursuit of Max Aarons.

As per a tweet from the Italian football journalist and transfer guru which emerged on Wednesday afternoon, new clubs are joining the race to sign the Norwich City star, and the Goodison Park faithful are now looking at other players.

This has not been met very well by several supporters of the Merseyside club, given how excited some of they were over Romano’s last and much more optimistic update involving them and Aarons.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team are in desperate need of cover at right-back, especially given the fact that Seamus Coleman is now 32 years of age, and Aarons, being just 21 and off the back of a promotion-winning season with the Canaries, could well be an ideal fit, providing that a suitable fee can be agreed between the two clubs.

لم يُخف بيدري فرحته بعد فوز برشلونة على أتليتيك بلباو، في مباراة تألق فيها بشكل فردي مع إشادة من جمهور الكامب نو، وعلّق على تصريحات المدرب تشافي هيرنانديز، كما تحدث عن مستقبل عثمان ديمبلي وأهداف البلوجرانا.

وفاز برشلونة على أتلتيك بلباو بأربعة أهداف نظيفة في منافسات الدوري الإسباني “الليجا” ليلة الأحد، ونشرت صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية، تصريحات بيدري.

وقال بيدري: “صحيح أننا نعمل بشكل جيد للغاية، ولدينا الكثير لنكسبه، المدرب يعطينا الكثير ويقدم لنا النصيحة داخل وخارج الملعب، ونشهد النتائج”.

وأضاف لاعب الوسط الشاب بشأن لقطة المراوغة وتمرير الكرة بين قدمي لاعب بلباو: “أشعر إنني بحالة جيدة للغاية، في الحقيقة كنت سأكون في مشكلة كبيرة لو فقدت الكرة، لكنها نجحت”.

وحول ديمبلي، أفاد تشافي: “نحاول أن نأخذ ذلك بطريقة أخرى، إنه يعطينا الكثير على أرض الملعب، لقد شوهد بالفعل، لقد سجل هدفًا رائعًا مستقبله يتعلق بقراره هو والنادي”.

وأتم بشأن ما يطمح إليه برشلونة وفرص المنافسة على الليجا: “نفكر في كل شيء، بإضافة ثلاثة نقاط في كل مباراة، استمر في التسجيل، واحصل على النقاط، ونرى ما سيحدث”. 

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, former Derby County manager, Paul Jewell, has urged Celtic fans not to judge Paulo Fonseca on his current season as Roma manager.

In the latest twist in Celtic’s hunt for a new manager, Fonseca has been linked with the vacant job as he will be replaced at the end of the season by Jose Mourinho, who spent very little time finding his next job in management after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last month.

The Roma manager guided his side to a Europa League semi-final against Manchester United but were easily knocked out, and they also find themselves 14 points off the Champions League places in Serie A.

Speaking on why Celtic fans shouldn’t judge Fonseca just by looking at the league table and how there will be a lot of media pressure on Fonseca if he takes the job, Jewell exclusively told FFC:

“Sometimes people just look at the league table and judge a manager but there are a couple of decent teams ahead of them in the league with the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli.

“I remember when I’ve spoken to Gordon Strachan and Walter Smith over the years and they used to say Celtic is such a pressurised job and there’s no getting away from the pressure in Scotland. I guess Roma is the same as well, so if he did go up there he would be used to the pressure.”

It has been reported that Eddie Howe is still Celtic’s number one managerial target but he will not be making a decision on his next job until the summer.

Whoever is appointed as Celtic’s new manager will have a rebuilding job on their hands as well as trying to win the title back off Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

حقق مانشستر سيتي فوزًا كبيرًا على مانشستر يونايتد في ديربي المدينة، بالمباراة التي جمعت بينهما ضمن الجولة 28 من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

شوط المباراة الأول جاء مثيرًا بين الفريقين، وفي الدقيقة الخامسة سجل كيفين دي بروين هدف التقدم بعد تبادل تمريرات بين برناردو سيلفا وجرييليش قبل أن يرسل سيلفا عرضية رائعة وجدت  دي بروين الخالي من الرقابة داخل منطقة جزاء مانشستر يونايتد ليضع الهدف الأول من بين أقدام ماجواير في مرمى دي خيا.

أول تهديد من مانشستر يونايتد كان عن طريق فريد، ولكن إيدرسون أنقذ الموقف في اللحظات الأخيرة عند الدقيقة 10، وبعد 8 دقائق كاد أن يقبل الثاني ولكن دي خيا تألق وأنقذ الثاني من أمام دي بروين.

الدقيقة 22 ومن مرتدة مثالية، بعد تمريرة رائعة من بوجبا مر جادون سانشو من دفاع مانشستر سيتي ووضعها بطريقة رائعة على يسار إيديرسون، ليسجل الهدف الأول ويتعادل لـ مانشستر يونايتد أمام أزرق المدينة.

بعد 7 دقائق فقط، مرور رائع من فيل فودين الذي سدد وتألق دي خيا في ابعاد تسديدته، ليتركها ماجواير بطريقة عجيبة ويسدد سيلفا ثم تسقط أمام دي بروين، الذي يسجل الثاني في الدقيقة 29، وهدفه الـ51 في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

تألق دي خيا في عديد الكرات أمام دي بروين وفودين ومحرز وأنقذ مانشستر يونايتد من العديد من الأهداف، قبل أن يهدر سانشو فرصة لا تعوّض، بتسديدة وصلت لمدرجات ملعب الإتحاد في الدقيقة 41.

دخل جندوجان بدلًا من كيفين دي بروين، وأهدر هدف محقق في الدقيقة 89، وظن الجميع أن الرابع لن يأتي، لكن رياض محرز كان له رأي آخر، بعد تمريرة إلكاي سجل بيُسراه من انفراد صريح أمام دي خيا، سدد في وجه دافيد والكرة في الشباك.

تقنية الـVAR  راجعت الهدف بعد أن ألغاه الحكم، لتؤكد تفوق سيتي، وتكتب رباعية في ملعب الإتحاد لـ السماوي أمام مانشستر يونايتد الذي لم يسدد أي كرة على مرمى إيدرسون في الشوط الثاني.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is being considered as a possible transfer target by Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart.

That’s according to a Kicker report published on Friday.

The lowdown

Since his implosion in the 2018 Champions League final, Karius has twice been sent out on loan. He spent the subsequent two seasons with Super Lig outfit Besiktas and then joined up with Union Berlin last September.

Karius has largely been second-choice in the German capital, starting only four league matches and one DFP-Pokal tie (via Transfermarkt). Manager Urs Fischer admitted that the 27-year-old is ‘not happy’ but said he could ‘handle’ the fact that the goalkeeper was ‘cross’ with him.

Karius is about to enter the final year of his £25,000-per-week Liverpool contract.

The proposed Stuttgart deal could hinge on the future of their incumbent number one Gregor Kobel, who is ‘in demand’. Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in the Swiss ‘keeper, who would cost €15m (£12.9m) according to Kicker.

Karius is one of the two ‘favourites’ to succeed Kobel should the latter leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena, with Mainz’s Florian Muller also targeted by Stuttgart.

The verdict

This summer will probably be Liverpool’s best chance to make money from the sale of Karius, who will be able to walk away on a free next year as things stand, and Kobel’s possible departure could open the door to a move to Stuttgart.

He demonstrated in the months before the Champions League final in Kiev that he could be a reasonably good goalkeeper when his confidence in high, establishing himself as Jurgen Klopp’s firm number one in the latter half of 2017/18.

The task of any new manager will be to rebuild that self-belief and lift the 27-year-old from a difficult few years for him if Karius is sold by Liverpool, where Caoimhin Kelleher seems poised to secure the role of Alisson’s deputy given the Irishman’s impressive displays this season.

Elsewhere, there’s good news on this Liverpool transfer target.

Swansea City may have been dealt a blow to their hopes of retaining the services of Steve Cooper this summer.

That’s according to a report by The Sun on Sunday (via Football League World), who claim that the Swansea City manager’s agent was spotted at Selhurst Park over the weekend, with the 41-year-old being linked with the managerial position at Crystal Palace following Roy Hodgson’s retirement.

Fans will be furious

Considering just how successful Cooper has been in his short time at Swansea City, the thought of the former England U17 coach being poached by Crystal Palace so soon after his arrival in Wales is likely to leave the Swans fanbase furious.

Indeed, after taking over from a Graham Potter side that had finished in 10th-place in the Championship standings, Cooper managed to lead the team to a rather unpredicted top-six finish in his first season in charge of the club, with the Swans just missing out a shot at promotion in the play-off final after a narrow 3-2 aggregate loss against Brentford.

However, this season, the 41-year-old has taken his side one step further, as, after a fourth-place finish in the second tier and a 2-1 aggregate victory over Barnsley in the play-off semi-final, the Welsh side are now just one game away from playing Premier League football as of next season – with a play-off final clash against old foes Brentford coming up this Saturday.

So, if Swansea were to lose their gaffer this summer – something which could appear likely if Cooper’s agent really was at Selhurst Park last weekend – regardless of which league they are playing their football in next season, it would seem the club would be in a much worse position than with the 41-year-old at the helm.

A busca pelo aprimoramento e conhecimento na Europa tornou-se uma tendência entre os treinadores brasileiros. O preparador físico Luis Fernando Goulart, da Ponte Preta, aproveitou a pausa no calendário nacional e seguiu o mesmo caminho.

Há quase dez dias no Velho continente, o profissional está ampliando seus conhecimentos e buscando novos conceitos para usar no clube de Campinas.

– Estou buscando pois acredito sempre em estar antenado com o que acontece no futebol mundial. Busco realizar dentro da Ponte Preta uma metodologia de trabalho eficiente para que a equipe tenha uma excelente performance no aspecto físico. Aqui encontrei alguns conceitos interessantes para aprimorar ainda mais essa performance – explicou.

Na Espanha, Luis Fernando visitou o Real Madrid e o Atlético Madrid, e agora está na Alemanha visitando o Bayern de Munique. Teve o que aprender nos três clubes, mas explicou que o conceito utilizado não é uniforme.

– O diferente aqui é muito particular de cada profissional. O preparador do Atlético de Madrid tem uma metodologia, do Real Madrid outra e os italianos do Bayer outra. Mas as riquezas de variações de excercicios foram muito interessantes – contou.

Campeão Goiano em 2014 pelo Atlético-GO, da Copa do Nordeste em 2014 pelo Sport e com passagem pelo Fluminense em 2015, Luis Fernando resumiu o que viu até agora nas viagens e contou o saldo e lição que tirou para encaixar novos métodos em sua filosofia de trabalho:

– Como já realizo nos meus trabalhos, as equipes na Europa fazem os treinos físicos integrados dentro do aspecto técnico, como pequenos jogos. Aqui vendo muitos treinos, vejo que estou na direção certa no sentido de desenvolvimento da condição física do atleta. Os métodos e conceitos que são os diferenciais. Depende da equipe de jogadores que você terá em mãos – finalizou.

Com contrato com a Ponte Preta até fim de 2017, Luis Fernando Goulart é nome certo na comissão técnica do time de Campinas na próxima temporada. Ele estará ao lado do técnico Felipe Moreira, que substitui Eduardo Baptista, que deixou o cargo após boa campanha no Campeonato Brasileiro de 2016.
