Wolves loanee Connor Ronan has been busy impressing away from the club and journalist Tim Spiers has now taken to Twitter to deliver his verdict on the youngster.

What’s he said?

Ronan was in action for Republic of Ireland’s U21 side over the course of the recent international break, appearing as a second-half substitute as the Irish defeated Sweden 4-1.

Currently plying his trade at Slovakian side FC DAC, the 21-year-old is in the midst of a two-year loan in a bid to get his career back on track.

It appears as though he’s more than done that, earning rave reviews from Irish supporters for his display on Tuesday evening.

He’s even been given the seal of approval by The Athletic’s Wolves correspondent Spiers. Taking to Twitter this week, he said the following:

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Ronan’s time in the Midlands was one that was coming to a disappointing end.

Shipped out on loan to a far from reputable league, he’s begun to make tremendous strides in 2019/20.

The youngster broke through at Wolves in 2016/17, going onto appear 13 times for the senior side but as the club made moves into the Premier League, any chance of first-team football seeped away.

They brought in the likes of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho while the emergence of Morgan Gibbs-White can’t have helped his cause either.

However, Ronan’s making all the right noises at the moment, scoring in Europa League qualifying for his loan outfit while also performing admirably in midweek for his country.

He was introduced when the Republic of Ireland were trailing but he helped change the game, playing a sensational ball in behind for Tottenham prodigy Troy Parrott to find the back of the net. He then set up the final goal of the contest after breaking down the left and sliding the ball across the box.

If Ronan continues making the strides he’s put in during recent months, he might well have a fighting chance of getting back in Nuno Santo’s plans.

Given Wolves’ slim squad, he could become a useful back-up option. Only time will tell whether that actually happens.

روبيرتو محبطًا من بعد الإصابات التي كان لها تأثيرًا كبيرًا على مستواه، ولعب 1198 دقيقة فقط هذا الموسم بجميع المسابقات، ولم يقدم القائد الرابع لبرشلونة أرقامًا أسوأ من هذا الموسم، منذ أن تم تصعيده في 2014/2015.

Real Madrid have never really been a club to hide their preferences in the transfer market.

If they like a player, they will make it known and usually, they will get him sooner rather than later. A similar thing is happening with Kylian Mbappe as Zinedine Zidane has publicly spoken about the player on multiple different occasions already.

Los Blancos’ liking of Tottenham Hotspur star, Harry Kane, is pretty similar to that.

Even though they are not so vocal about it, the constant transfer rumours give it more context.

With Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, Kane was suddenly more than likely to leave and where would he go in that case? Real Madrid, of course. Or so everyone thought.

But recently, Daniel Levy slapped a £250m price tag on the Englishman’s head, per Daily Express, and Jose Mourinho, their new manager, showered his striker with praise, dubbing him one of the best in the business and basically confirming he will definitely count on him.

This, undoubtedly, stirred things up over in the Spanish capital.

Of course, we’ve heard whispers of Zidane potentially offering Karim Benzema along with some cash to land his target but that idea, just like the mere thought of coughing up £250m, just doesn’t make much sense.

With Mourinho’s verdict and that of Kane himself, stating he wants to win trophies this year, could very well end Real Madrid’s pursuit altogether.

And looking at the situation as a whole, it does seem like a wiser move to back off instead of splash the cash and negotiate with Levy.

Of course, with both Gareth Bale and Luka Modric already prised away from Spurs in the years gone by, the two clubs know each other well but there’s no guarantee that would give Real Madrid an advantage in any bid to sign Kane.

The English goal-machine seems out of their reach at the moment but with Benzema still firing on all cylinders and Mbappe always on their radar, maybe it’s for the best that they shelf a raid that would leave even their wallets empty.

In other news, Arsenal’s unsettled star might be heading to Napoli in the near future and the Serie A team seems like the perfect destination for him.

وبحسب الشبكة، أبلغ كامافينجا إدارة رين بأنه لن يمدد عقده مع الفريق ويريد الرحيل واختار الانتقال إلى باريس سان جيرمان الذي فضله على ليفربول وريال مدريد.

يرى اللاعب الشاب أن الانتقال إلى باريس سان جيرمان سيساهم كثيرًا في تطوره التدريجي بالمستقبل من أجل المنافسة على الكثير من الألقاب المحلية والقارية.

It wasn’t a complete dismissal of the 54-year-old either, with one suggesting he should be given a chance – fair enough given that he brought home Valencia’s first trophy in a decade and had them regularly competing in the Champions League after consecutive 12th-placed finishes in La Liga.

وأردف: “كنا نستحق الفوز على طلائع الجيش، ووصل لاعبونا إلى مرمى المنافس في عدة مناسبات، لكن لم يحسنوا استغلال الفرص بالشكل الأمثل”.

واختتم: “كما أن ضغط المباريات يلعب دورًا كبيرًا في تراجع الحالة البدنية للاعبين خلال شوط المباراة الثاني”.

يذكر، أن فريق سيراميكا كليوباترا قد تعادل إيجابيًا مع طلائع الجيش بهدفين لكل منهما في مباراة الجولة الـ25 من عمر الدوري.

Tottenham Hotspur have a big Champions League clash ahead of them tonight as they take on Bayern Munich in Germany.

But seeing how they have already secured their ticket for the knockout stages, Jose Mourinho decided to rotate his squad and leave some of his stars back home.

One of those players was Harry Kane and shortly after that announcement, Evening Standard came out with a story stating that the Englishman was frustrated by the coach’s decision as he wants to play in every game to boost his goal tally.

According to the report, Kane would love to finish as the top scorer in the Champions League.

But upon seeing the update, many Spurs fans felt like Mourinho did the right thing by leaving his star striker home in a mostly meaningless game.

Interestingly enough, some of them were quick to notice the fire in Kane’s eyes and they seem to love his mentality and eagerness to play and compete.

Of course, they appreciated that from their main man but still feel like it’s simply not worth the risk.

And finally, they were also quick to point out that Mauricio Pochettino never had this level of control over his stars and that mismanaging them was one of his eventual downfalls.

It seems that Mourinho could very well avoid his predecessor’s mistakes.
