خاض الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي، فقرات تدريبية فنية متنوعة خلال المران الختامي، قبل المواجهة المرتقبة غدا السبت أمام المريخ السوداني.

يلتقي الأهلي مع المريخ السوداني، في الثالثة عصر غداً السبت، ضمن منافسات الجولة الخامسة من دور المجموعات ببطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا، المقرر إقامتها على ملعب الجوهرة الزرقاء.

وأدى الأهلي مرانه الختامي على ملعب فرع الرياضة العسكري في العاصمة السودانية الخرطوم، وقام الجهاز الفني بالتركيز على العديد من الجوانب الخططية والفنية؛ استعداداً لمباراة الغد أمام المريخ.

ويدخل الأهلي مباراة المريخ غدًا، وهو يحتل المركز الثاني في المجموعة الأولى برصيد 7 نقاط من 4 مباريات، حيث حقق الفوز في مباراتين أمام المريخ السوداني بالقاهرة، وفيتا كلوب بالكونغو، وتعادل مع فيتا بالقاهرة، وتعرض لخسارة وحيدة من سيمبا في تنزانيا.

وبدأ مران الأهلي الختامي على ملعب فرع الرياضة العسكري بالعاصمة السودانية الخرطوم؛ استعدادا لمباراة المريخ، بعدما خاض مرانه الرئيسي أمس الخميس على ملعب الجوهرة الزرقاء، الذي يستضيف اللقاء؛ نظرا لانشغاله اليوم الجمعة، في نفس توقيت مران الأهلي، باستضافة مواجهة الهلال السوداني وصن داونز الجنوب إفريقي بنفس البطولة.

ويسعى الأهلي لمواصلة انتصاراته، والوصول إلى النقطة العاشرة، لحسم التأهل إلى الدور التالي في البطولة، ومواصلة مشوار الدفاع عن لقب دوري أبطال إفريقيا، بعد الفوز الكبير الذي حققه خارج ملعبه، في الجولة الرابعة على فيتا كلوب الكونغولي بثلاثية نظيفة.

فيما حرص حسام عيسى، سفير مصر في السودان، على حضور المران الختامي ومؤازرة الأهلي، كما عقد جلسة مع المهندس خالد الدرندلي، أمين صندوق النادي ورئيس البعثة، وجدد التأكيد على جاهزية كافة الترتيبات الخاصة بالمباراة.

كما حرص الجهاز الفني ولاعبي الأهلي، على الاحتفال بعيد ميلاد عمرو السولية، لاعب الفريق قبل انطلاق المران الذي أقيم اليوم الجمعة.

Speaking on episode 69 of the Inside Elland Road Podcast, Ben Parker has delivered his verdict on the future of Ben White, suggesting he could stay at Elland Road for over ten years.

What’s he said?

White walked through the doors of Thorp Arch under considerable pressure last summer as he was tasked with replacing Pontus Jansson.

The Swede was incredibly influential in his time with Leeds and was named in the PFA Team of the Year alongside club captain Liam Cooper last term.

His absence has been felt hard in terms of defending set-pieces with three of the seven goals they’ve conceded in the Championship coming from dead-ball scenarios.

But White has been exceptional since arriving, being awarded the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for August.

Despite only being on loan, ex-defender Parker reckons he has what it takes to be at Leeds for a considerable period of time. He told the Inside Elland Road Podcast:

“I think he’s first-class.

“You could see him being at this club for ten plus years with the way he’s going.”

White on the rise

The 21-year-old’s rise has been rather meteoric in recent years and he’s taken to each division he’s played in like a duck to water.

A loan spell at Newport County saw him play 42 times in League Two, managing to play a significant role when he was still so young.

Last term saw a temporary period in League One with Peterborough from January onwards, a spell where he missed just five league fixtures from a possible 22.

White has since made the leap to Championship football with relative ease too, failing to be absent from a single league outing to date. Via WhoScored, he’s won 2.4 tackles per game and also an exceptional 3.3 interceptions.

That shows how comfortable he’s been at this level but considering his rise over all three divisions, it wouldn’t be a great surprise if he was able to perform at Premier League level too.

Whether that’s at Brighton or Leeds remains to be seen. After all, his performances in west Yorkshire must surely be impressing his parent club so that will be the biggest sticking point in keeping him.

If Leeds go up it might be more possible for them to hold onto the defender. That would obviously be a major boost in keeping him for the ten years Parker states, but that seems unlikely for the time being.

ويلتقي الفريقان في إطار منافسات الجولة الحادية والثلاثين من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، في ملعب الأنفيلد.

وفشل ماني في إحداث التأثير المتوقع منه مع ليفربول في الموسم الحالي، خاصة في الدوري الإنجليزي حيث لم يسجل إلا 7 أهداف فقط في البطولة وكان آخرها في 28 يناير الماضي.

وذكرت صحيفة “ديلي ميل” الإنجليزية أن كلوب يفكر جديًا في عدم الدفع بـ ساديو ماني في تشكيل ليفربول الأساسي اليوم أمام أستون فيلا في المباراة المرتقبة.

وأوضحت أن الألماني قد يلجأ إلى الثلاثي الهجومي محمد صلاح وروبرتو فيرمينو ودييجو جوتا.

يأتي هذا في الوقت الذي اعترف فيه كلوب بأنه يدرك جيدًا بعدم استمتاع ماني بأفضل مستوى له في الوقت الحالي (لمطالعة التفاصيل من هنا).

It’s possible we’re reading too much into this, but you never know, it’s possible that news like this indicates the start of something.

What’s the story?

According to a report in The Sun On Sunday (print edition, Page 65, 20/10), Leeds United are one of a number of clubs in the hunt for Hearts’ 17-year-old left-back Aaron Hickey.

They face some stiff competition though, with Manchester City and QPR both reportedly interested in him as well.

Despite his young age, Hickey has tied down a place in the Hearts starting eleven, having played in all bar one of their games so far this season, the lone exception being when he served a one-game suspension having been sent off on the opening day of the campaign.

An eye on the future?

As we covered in a recent edition of Transfer Focus when discussing Leeds’ pursuit of Billy Gilmour, bringing in a young player presents risks on both sides of the argument.

Either the young one coming in has his path blocked by the elder statesmen of the team, or he slots in and stunts the growth of other academy players coming through.

However, with Hickey only being 17, there’s the argument to be made that he won’t need to be rushed into the first team just yet, thus presenting him with a potential chance in the youth team.

Rather crucially, what this rumour does show is that Marcelo Bielsa is possibly laying the groundwork to be here for a very long time.

Players like Rafa Mujica and Liam McCarron arrived in the summer while giving consistent game time to players such as Jamie Shackleton in the academy gives the impression that he is very much interested in building something at Leeds.

That can also be seen by handing places on the bench to Robbie Gotts and Leif Davis too.

This can only go down as a positive thing. If experienced players were all he was targeting, you could make a case that the Argentine sees this as a three or four-year thing before moving on elsewhere.

Whilst long stints at clubs like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger are rare these days, who’s to say how long the tenure at Elland Road can last?

After all, achieving promotion would certainly help Leeds’ bid to keep him.

It’s never too early to start talking about the managerial hot seat.

With manager’s never too far away from the sack in the modern game, and given Birmingham City’s history when it comes to managers, you can never be too sure how safe Pep Clotet is in his job.

What’s he said?

Speaking during a Q&A on Birmingham Live, before the Blackburn Rovers game, journalist Brian Dick says that he believed Clotet was doing enough to keep the board members on his side, and that he doesn’t believe he’ll be ‘in the firing line’ any time soon:

“He’s been given a very difficult job, challenge for promotion, with a new style and young players. I think you’d have to say given the upheaval he’s doing OK.”

“As regards the firing line, show me a Blues manager that hasn’t been for the last few years. I hope not, he’s an interesting guy to listen to who clearly knows his football.”

Managing expectations

As Dick mentions, the upheaval that took place in the summer with the sudden departure of Garry Monk, as well as the dangling Sword of Damocles that was their Financial Fair Play misconduct last season, it would have left any manager in charge somewhat handcuffed when it came to doing their job this campaign.

With a poll in September among Birmingham City fans on Twitter giving an indication of what the majority of supporter’s expectations were this term, many believed they’ll be a lower mid-table team.

Thus, it is somewhat baffling to see the Birmingham faithful constantly calling for Clotet to be sacked.

Fans need to be a little calmer when it comes to results and performances this season.

This campaign should always have been about stability and getting the skeleton of a side in place during the first two transfer windows, then using that as a way of building towards something next season.

Birmingham aren’t in any position to be challenging for promotion just yet, so fans need to lower their expectations. If results like these continue into next season, then there will be cause for concern. But just like Jude Bellingham, the best is yet to come.

Hold your horses.

That seems to be the message Danny Mills is trying to get across when discussing the Eddie Nketiah v Patrick Bamford debate.

Having come off the bench once again to spare Marcelo Bielsa’s blushes, discussions have ramped up regarding whether or not the 20-year-old should be starting on a more regular basis for the Whites.

However former Leeds defender Danny Mills believes that his performances off the bench don’t necessarily mean he should be given the job of leading the line from the outset just yet.

What’s he said?

Speaking to Football Insider, Mills said that Nketiah hasn’t done enough to warrant a start and that he’d still go with Bamford when picking the team going forward:

This came after the Arsenal loanee replaced the 26-year-old and scored against Preston.

He perhaps rather surprisingly gave the following verdict:

“There’s been a lot of pressure, Nketiah’s been in good form and there’s no doubt Nketiah’s been knocking on the door. You say: ‘Right, okay, it’s a little bit of a stalemate, we’ll change it up. You’ve been banging on my door for your chance, go and take it.’ He did okay Nketiah, I don’t think he was exciting. You don’t look at it and go: ‘Wow, that was exceptional, this kid has to start the next game.’ Bamford is still in the driving seat.”

Has he proven himself?

Whilst pressure might be building on Nketiah to get a start, the fact of the matter is that Nketiah hasn’t proven that he can lead the line from the start of the game on a regular basis.

He may have got two goals in the Carabao Cup when he started those games, but they weren’t against the best quality of opposition. Salford City have just been promoted out of the National League and Stoke City were winless in the Championship when they met.

There’s nothing wrong with being a ‘super-sub’ – Ole Gunnar Solskjær made an entire career out of it.

But as things stand Nketiah has only proven himself at Championship level to pick off teams when they are tired, and whilst things could be better for Leeds, it’s not as if things are disastrous.

Bamford had to do something similar last year, coming off the bench before becoming a regular. So if it’s good enough for him to wait, why shouldn’t Nketiah get the same treatment?

Better to keep things as they are and make a change when you have to rather than bowing to the pressure from the supporters.

وقال الدرديري في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “الزمالك”: “مجلس إدارة الزمالك قرر عدم المشاركة في المباراة الفاصلة أمام الأهلي، ويطالب اتحاد الكرة باعتبار الأبيض بطلًا لدوري الشباب”.

وأضاف: “وحال عدم اعتماد الجبلاية الزمالك بطلًا سنلجأ للجنة التسوية والمنازعات باللجنة الأولمبية”.

وأردف: “وفي حالة عدم حصول الزمالك على حقه سيلجأ إلى المحكمة الرياضية الدولية في سويسرا، الزمالك سيصل لابعد شىء لأنه هذا حقه”.

واستكمل: “اللائحة واضحة وصريحة لماذا يثير اتحاد الكرة الجدل؟ يجب عليه أن يحكم بالعدل لأنه اساس الملك”.

وتابع: “لدي معلومة أن لجنة الانضباط ستصدر قرار بإيقاف إمام عاشور لمدة 6 أشهر”.

وواصل: “إذا كان هناك خطأ من قبل إمام عاشور، فسيتم التحقيق في هذه الواقعة بالكامل غدًا ولو هناك خطأ من جانب اللاعب سيتم معاقبته من قبل الزمالك، وسيكون موقف تربوي من قبل النادي، والعقوبة بما تتلائم مع قيم الزمالك”.

واختتم: “الزمالك سيقدم فيديو للاعبي الأهلي، وسترسل شكوى للجنة الانضباط بهذه التصرفات، على أتحاد الكرة ألا يكيل بمكيالين، الزمالك قادر على معاقبة لاعبيه بطريقته ولا ينتظر عقوبة من أحد”.

Gary Neville believes Manchester United would jump at the chance to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen in January despite his performances dipping this season.

After six years with the club, the 27-year-old announced his intention to seek a ‘new challenge’ at the beginning of the summer.

The Daily Mail reported that Real Madrid was one of the potential locations the Denmark international mentioned, with Eriksen apparently claiming Los Blancos to be a ‘step up.’

However, while the admiration was clearly there, Madrid were busy focusing on recruiting the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo, a haul estimated to be in the region on £276m – hence the predicament Tottenham and Eriksen currently find themselves in.

With Eriksen’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, other clubs will have the opportunity to sign him on a Bosman deal, that is – for free, and United, who are currently juggling their own wantaway midfielder in Paul Pogba, who also claimed to be in search of new challenges at the beginning of the summer, may choose to pick up from where they left in the summer – despite apparently cooling their interesting due to the player’s desire to move to Spain.

Speaking about Eriksen’s future, Neville said: “He’s acting like a kid who didn’t get the sweets he wanted in the shop.

“He wanted to go to a club, and he didn’t get what he wanted.”

When asked whether top clubs would still be interested in his, particularly United, the Old Trafford legend claimed: “absolutely – they’d take him tomorrow.”

واختتم: “ليس لديهم توفيق في الأهداف التي تسكن شباكهم، وتكون بمثابة عقاب لهم ولا أعلم سبب ذلك”.
